CHRISTINA CATANESE

This body of choreographed dance works examines the use of dance as a declaration of politics and aesthetics in avant garde movements such as Futurism, Dada, and Surrealism. Each dance was conceived, co-choreographed, co-produced, and performed by Christina Catanese and Julia Cuccaro.  They were presented as an evening-length program called Formed Declarations: an examination of aesthetic and political principles in modern dance that premiered in the Philadelphia Fringe Festival at Media Bureau in September 2009.
