Grafting is a horticultural technique in which tissues of two different plants are joined so they can continue their growth together. Becoming a mother is a transformation of identity, which requires integrating and nourishing something new that has become part of you and yet is also separate. Seasons of joy, shadow, and growth unfold, even in a single day of motherhood.
